Special: alleen vrouwenstemmen in de top 3 - hoe bijzonder is dat?

In de FZ Top 40 van deze week bestaat de top-3 uit Cyclone van Future Palace, End of You van Poppy, Amy Lee & Courtney LaPlante en Kan Je Me Zien van Bente. Wat deze drie nummers gemeen hebben, is dat er alleen vrouwenstemmen op te horen zijn.

Ruim zes jaar geleden

In de jaren '20 is het niet eerder gebeurd dat alle vocalisten in de top-3 vrouw waren. De laatste keer was namelijk in de chart van week 7-2019. Toen bestond de top-3 uit Avril Lavignes Tell Me It's Over, Crashing Atlas' Monster en Don't Feel like Crying van Sigrid.

Waarom het meer dan 6,5 jaar niet is voorgekomen is eenvoudig te verklaren vanuit het feit dat er de laatste jaren veel meer rockmuziek in mijn chart is komen te staan. Dat zijn voor het overgrote deel bands en die bands hebben bijna altijd een mannelijke zanger. Logischerwijs neemt de kans dat er alleen maar vrouwen in de top-3 staan dan af. Hetzelfde geldt voor vrouwen in de top-40. Op dit moment is op maar 11 van de 40 nummers een vrouw te horen en dat is eerder minder geweest.

In de jaren '10 kwam het heel veel vaker voor

Met deze week erbij opgeteld is het 28 keer voorgekomen dat er alleen maar vrouwen te horen waren in de top-3. Van de 718 FZ Top 40's, dus dan hebben we het over een krappe 4% van de lijsten.

In 2014 het vaakst alleen maar vrouwenstemmen in de top-3

Opmerkelijk genoeg is het in 2012 en 2013 niet voorgekomen. In 2014 juist vaker dan ooit: in 10 charts. Dit dankzij de successen van onder andere Jess Glynne, Iggy Azalea, Ariana Grande en Taylor Swift dat jaar. De eerste vrouwelijke top-3 van dat jaar bestond uit Shakira's Can't Remember to Forget You, Clean Bandit ft. Jess Glynnes Rather Be en Little Nikki's YoYo.

Meeste weken op rij

Het recordaantal weken dat er alleen vrouwen te horen waren in de top-3 is vijf: van week 20 t/m 24-2018. Jess Glynne, CHVRCHES, Eleni Foureira en Demi Lovato (die laatste samen met Clean Bandit) stonden in die weken op het erepodium van de FZ Top 40.
